Dolores Cordell

Dolores Cordell advocates preventive law by helping clients make sound legal decisions and employ best practices that avoid problems in the first place. She provides practical and trustworthy one-to-one guidance to clients trying to navigate the state, federal, and local rules and regulations. In the unfortunate event that a client does face a suit, Dolores Cordell is a staunch advocate for the client’s rights - and an experienced and determined litigator in court who has tried dozens of cases before juries and judges, as well as before administrative agencies.

Education and experience for your legal challenge

A business litigation and employment law attorney for over 25 years, Dolores Cordell specializes in advising companies on employment law issues throughout the State of California. For the last 15 years, her practice has focused on employment law, counseling clients on how to avoid employment related lawsuits and administrative claims, performing employment law audits to insure compliance with the law, and defending against wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and other employee-related lawsuits. Ms. Cordell is also commercial law and litigation attorney with expertise in the areas of injunctions, unfair competition, and pre-judgment attachments.

Ms. Cordell was a founding member and a past Chairman of the Provisional & Post Judgment Remedies Section of the Los Angeles Country Bar Association and has been an arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court. She is a past member of the Board of Legal Specialization for the California State Bar, where she established a committee investigating the certification of qualified attorneys as Labor and Employment Law specialists in State of California. Her articles have appeared regularly in the Hiring & Discharge Compliance Report and in trade journals. She has lectured on employment law issues through Lorman seminars and for clients on a private basis.

With years of experience and education in commercial litigation as well as employment law, Ms. Cordell is aware of the realities of business, not just the letter of the law.
